In times of intense discussions around sustainable environmental practices in Brazilian territory, VIPOSA hereby reinforces the commitment, made since its foundation, to the most comprehensive socio-environmental practices for the correct and efficient use of resources, traceability of its raw materials and appreciation of its employees.
Our commitment to sustainability begins with the careful selection of suppliers, who must guarantee (to VIPOSA and government agencies) the supply of raw material from farms in regular and authorized areas, without any legal restrictions regarding deforestation, invasion of indigenous lands and / or conservation areas. In addition to that, the purchased raw material must present a modern traceability system that allows a complete verification of the supply chain, bringing detailed information of transportation history and animal origin.
Moreover, VIPOSA has plants audited with the highest rating (Gold) by the Leather Working Group (LWG). This independent certification agency aims to assess tanneries’ compliance and performance in relation to the implementation of sustainable business processes such as: use of restricted substances, water and energy usage, waste management, effluent treatment and raw material traceability.
Thinking about the future of our planet and the next generations, VIPOSA is constantly pursuing its renewal through the most modern practices regarding the correct, rational and efficient usage of environmental resources. We reinforce our engagement with the current sustainability topics and make ourselves available for further information on our policies around the issue.
